ITHACA, by Konstantínos Kaváfis (1911).
As you set out for Ithaca
hope your road is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
Laistrygonians, Cyclops,
angry Poseidon - don't be afraid of them:
you' ll never find things like that on your way
as long as you keep your thoughts raised high,
as long as a rare excitement
stirs your spirit and your body.
Laistrygonians, Cyclops,
wild Poseidon - you won't encounter them
unless you bring them along inside your soul,
unless your soul sets them up in front of you.
Hope your road is a long one.
May there be many summer mornings when,
with what pleasure, what joy,
you enter harbours you're seeing for the first time;
may you stop at Phoenician trading stations
to buy fine things,
mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
sensual perfume of every kind -
as many sensual perfumes as you can;
and may you visit many Egyptian cities
to learn and go on learning from their scholars.
Keep Ithaca always in your mind.
Arriving there is what you're destined for.
But don't hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so you're old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you've gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaca to make you rich.
Ithaca gave you the marvelous journey.
Without her you wouldn't have set out.
She has nothing left to give you now.
And if you find her poor, Ithaca won't have fooled you.
Wise as you will have become, so full of experience,
you'll have understood by then what these Ithacas mean.

My name is Claudia Roisentul and a few years ago, my partner, Guy Corte, we bought this land that we call Ithaca, like a poem, Konstantin Kavafi (Ithaca).
When we readed this poem, we realized we wanted to build a small Ithaca that would find us together at the end of our days.
Guy and I dreamed about this place for many years. Traveled through many places, watched everything that we liked on the long road ... We planned, we thought, we designed and imagines our dream come true.
Argos was the dog of Odysseus in "Odyssey." When Odysseus returned from his travels taking the disguise of a beggar that Athena had given him, only his old dog Argos recognized him.
That's the name of the kennel. G & C Guy and Claudia .... This is us.
Then we realized that everyone was sympathetic to a specific breed of dogs. So we agreed to raise and care of both. Bullmastiff, and Rhodesian Ridgeback.
We started and since the beginning of our relationship we have Brisa, mixed breed who despite her nearly 12 years is dramatically younger, thanks to the joy and the relationship with the rest of the pack.
In these years of building our place in the world and studying different sources of inspiration with six dogs.
They are (in order of appearance) Homer, Tisha, Rome, Athens, Penny, Tosca, and Uyambo & Tayari was added then.
From what we wanted, what we could, this was what resulted.
The mission is to make a better world.
Study, research, delve into every aspect of everything that has to do with our enterprise.
The challenge is to do ... That's my belief.
"To believe is to assume that something is true, or is it the case that a certain state of affairs occurs in reality as opposed to other possible and discarded" - F. Sabater -
Time passes inexorably we are young today, tomorrow too, haha, (Old is the wind still blows, the saying goes) hopefully we can pass the baggage that come with all the effort we put into making each item.
All our dogs live around us, without permanent closures in an area of 33 hectares with thousands of places to play, run and learn with us in the work and rest, socialized, integrated, each with its characteristic ...They are the children we did not have together.
Our constant companions.
